Notice under The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012
Between 8 and 30 April the Director of Communities, Economy and Transport will consider the following item: Skills Bootcamps award of contracts.
The purpose of the item is: The Department for Education has awarded funding to East Sussex County Council to oversee the delivery of Skills Bootcamps in East Sussex from April 2025 to March 2026. This decision is to award a series of contracts to deliver the Skills Bootcamps in East Sussex in the value of £2,358,250.00
Under the requirements of Regulation 9 of The Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2021, the Council is required to give 28 days’ notice of a key decision identified within the scope of these regulations.
It is considered that the item referred to above would be a key decision and for the reasons of urgency set out below, compliance is considered impracticable, and an exception to Regulation 9 is therefore sought under Regulation 10 of the above Regulations. It is considered impracticable to comply with the requirements of The Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2021 because:
The programme is only one year in length with key milestones needing to be delivered in a very short timeframe. The first such milestone is June 2025 which will not be realised if the council is unable to issue contracts until May.
Accordingly, a copy of this notice shall be available pursuant to Regulation 5(6) for at least 5 clear days prior to 8 April 2025.
